LOS ANGELES - Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- DENISE FLECK, Founder of Sunny-dog Ink, the company she started in 1999 To Help People Help Their Pets™,is pleased to announce her 10,000th student received training in Pet First-Aid & CPR this past week at the Pet Sitters International’s World Educational Conference held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. "It is so rewarding to help pet lovers learn to rescue Rover or help Fluffy feel better.  Over the years, I have had scores of students jump to the task bandaging a wound, alleviating choking, heatstroke, noticing something ‘not quite right’ or actually performing CPR.”

Says dog mom Shirley DeFazio of Ventura, California, “I just can’t believe I saved my pet’s life thanks to Denise’s class!” DeFazio performed life-saving measures when her beloved Doberman suffered cardiac arrest.

After taking dozens and dozens of classes, practicing, volunteering, joining an animal response team and practicing some more, Fleck developed her curriculum for Pet First-Aid & CPCR (Cardio Pulmonary Cerebral Resuscitation emphasizing the importance of moving blood and oxygen to the pet’s brain), Pet Disaster Preparedness and Senior Pet Care and for a 5-month Career Technical Education course in Animal Care for high school students. She has shared tips on Animal Planet’s Pit Boss, CBS-TV’s The Doctors, A&E’s Kirstie Alley’s Big Life, CNN Headline News and regularly on KTLA-TV5 Morning News in Los Angeles as well as in magazines and on radio programming.  Fleck’s definitive “Pet Safety Bible,” in conjunction with Pet World Insider, will be available in 2016.

The realization of teaching animal life-saving skills to 10,000 students occurred during a recent conference at which she presented the keynote address and two seminars.  "PSI's 2015 Pet Sitter World Educational Conference & Expo was attended by nearly 300 professional pet sitters and pet-industry experts from the United States and Canada," said Beth Stultz, PSI's director of marketing and education. Because professional pet sitters spend more time with clients' pets than most other pet professionals, it is particularly important that they stay current on the latest in pet health and care. The Sunny-dog Ink pet first aid training provides pet sitters with the skills they need to administer aid and respond to emergency situations before a veterinarian is available."

“By teaching 10,000 humans who can now share their knowledge with family and friends -- exponentially helping many more pets -- swells my heart with joy,” Fleck remarked. “One of my students summed it up best, 'There is nothing as rewarding as knowing I saved a helpless little dog from choking…and her wagging tail and thankful licks let me know she feels the same way.'”

DENISE FLECK assisted Homeland Security with their K9 Border Patrol First-Aid Program and received kudos from the Burbank (California) Police Department & Animal Shelter for their Animal Emergency Plan.  She has been twice-named a finalist as Pet Industry’s Woman of the Year, authored nine books and developed a line of pet first aid kits.  Fleck resides in the Los Angeles area with her husband Paul and their canine pack.  Learn more at www.SunnyDogInk.com
