Lose 10 Pounds in 2 weeks with the modified mediterranean diet

AXIS, Ala. - Sept. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- It may seem like a stretch, but it is entirely possible to lose 10 pounds in 10 days. It is important to note that some of the 10 pounds is going to be excess water and general “bloat” that people carry. In fact, the majority of it will be, but you will lose a few pounds of “real” weight by following this plan. But, my question is what’s wrong with losing 10 pounds of mostly water weight?

You will definitely lose some inches, have looser fitting clothes, and look better. Sounds good to me! The reason most experts do not recommend you lose weight this quickly is because the methods you have to incorporate cannot be sustained, and are not really good for a person over the long term.

What this type of diet does for some is give them the boost they need to start incorporating a healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise that is conducive to long term weight loss and maintenance. 1. Prepare to be Hungry

Losing this much weight in such a short amount of time requires serious calorie restriction. That means you’re going to be hungry. If you know this going in then you’ll likely be able to deal with it. You will also likely be tired and sluggish for the first few days. Be prepared for this too. The hardest part is the first three days. Hunger, tiredness, and moodiness kicks in, and this is when most people cave. If you know this you can be prepared to weather the storm that occurs during the first 36 hours.

2. Jumpstart Results with a Fast

You can either go straight water for one to two days or go on an all fruit and vegetable juice fast. A juice fast does require a blender or a juicer. Either way, you will cleanse your body and get rid of the excess water and bloat quickly. You’ll probably lose half the weight during these two days. If you go on a juice fast then make sure you consume mostly vegetables with a minimal amount of fruit. Find some good juice recipes online that show the calorie content.

3. Cut the Carbs

You’ll have to pretty much cut out all of the carbs out of your diet. The worst kinds of carbohydrates are from refined grains and foods with high amounts of fructose, sugar, and sucrose. Vegetables have enough carbohydrates in them to give you the fuel you need. So, clean crackers, chips, cookies, and candy out the snack drawer at work, the pantry, and any other secret location where you stash food.

4. Cut Calories

Experts recommend not cutting your calorie content to lower than 1,200 per day. That’s good advice. Any less than 1,200 calories per day and you’re going to feel pretty worthless in about a week. Besides, you can burn the extra calories doing light exercise. Your could continue to stay on the juice fast for the entire ten days and mix in whey protein powder or you could switch to a whole food diet of mostly lean protein and a lot of vegetables.

5. Drink Water

Studies show that people who drink a lot of water don’t eat as much because their stomachs feel full. You’ll want to drink about a gallon of water per day spread out throughout the day. This will get rid of excess water in your body, detox your system, and help fight hunger pains. Warning – diet sodas and sugar free drinks do not count. You need to drink water. If you need some taste, add a fresh lemon slice in your glass.
