Kaftan Enterprises Wins ‘Best and Brightest Companies to Work For’ Award

Sept. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- Kaftan Enterprises (http://www.kaftancommunities.com/index.html) is one of “Metro Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For (http://www.101bestandbrightest.com/)^®.” The Southfield-based company was honored today by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) (http://www.michbusiness.org/) on Sept. 17 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance in downtown Detroit.

Kaftan, which is celebrating its 50^th anniversary, manages more than two dozen apartment communities and last year saw an increase in revenue. President Jeffrey Kaftan said his company’s growth is important, but understands that it couldn’t have been accomplished without a diligent and committed team.

“We are always on the lookout for creative ways to say thanks to our employees for making Kaftan Enterprises a successful and fun place to work,” said Kaftan. “Since our founding, we’ve encouraged team members to help us find ways to make us a great company to work for.”

Each year, companies throughout metropolitan Detroit compete for the prestigious award. Only companies that distinguish themselves as having the most innovative and thoughtful human resources approach are awarded. An independent research firm evaluates each company’s entry in categories such as compensation, benefits and employee enrichment, among others.

The creation of an employee-driven steering committee and its hard work is one of the reasons the company was named an outstanding workplace, said Kaftan.

“They are terrific,” he added. “Kaftan Kares organized in-house flu shots, put together the ACS Making Strides team and helped the company lose 200 pounds last year with a Weight Watchers program. They’ve added a lot of value to the company and help us maintain an outstanding work-life balance.”
