Follow on Google News | Montana State University offers online American Indian Studies for Educators courseRegistration is open now for American Indian studies for educators, a Montana State University online course for teachers beginning Sept. 27. Participating students do not have to enroll in an MSU degree program in order to register.
By: Montana State University The course runs to Nov. 21 and offers three graduate credits. Students who complete the course may be able to apply credits toward an online graduate certificate in Native American Studies. Students in the course are expected to gain the skills, knowledge and dispositions to meet Montana’s Indian Education for All (IEFA) or similar state certification requirements outside of Montana. Course instructor John Vollertsen earned his doctorate in education from MSU in 2005 and has done extensive graduate work in Native American and environmental studies. He is an Assiniboine tribal member and has been teaching online for many years.
