American Paper & Twine Co. Announces Their First Teacher of the Week For The 2015 Titans Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- American Paper & Twine Co., Titans Radio and Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers announced Sarah Jones from Central High School in Florence, Alabama, was selected as Teacher of the Week for the home opener of the Tennessee Titans 2015 football season.

“This is our sixth year honoring outstanding teachers, and Sarah Jones is the perfect example of why we continue this tradition,” said Karen Shaffer, American Paper & Twine Co. Vice President. “We are extremely lucky to have partners such as Georgia-Pacific and Titans Radio who enable us to recognize incredible teachers year-after-year from across our service area.”

Ms. Jones was nominated by her mother, Becky Jones, who said, “Sarah graduated on a Saturday and had a job on the following Tuesday teaching kindergarten at Riverhill Elementary. She taught there three years while working on her Masters degree, which she completed December 2014.” Becky continued, “This is her first year at Central High School, where she attended school. Already she has taken on being the head coach of the track team, which they are just starting back up, and being over scholar bowl. She definitely has a gift! She knows how to get her students to enjoy learning. I think it would be awesome to recognize her and reward her for all her hard work.”

Each home game during the Titans’ season, submissions are reviewed to find exceptional teachers. The winning teachers receive a gift basket full of supplies for their classroom and two tickets to see a Tennessee Titans home game. A new winner is announced for every Tennessee Titans home game and at the end of the season a ‘Teacher of the Year’ is selected from the Teacher of the Week winners. This deserving teacher will receive an award, a deluxe gift basket of school supplies and tickets to the December 27th game vs. the Houston Texans.
