Purk & Associates Selected as 2015 Accounting Today’s "Best Accounting Firms to Work For"

ST. LOUIS - Sept. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- September 16, 2015, (St. Louis) – Purk & Associates, P.C., the leading St. Louis-based independently owned accounting and management consulting firm, was named for the second consecutive year as one of Accounting Today’s 2015 Best Accounting Firms to Work for. Accounting Today has partnered with Best Companies Group to identify companies that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees.

This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the accounting industry, benefiting the industry's economy, workforce and businesses. The list is made up of 100 companies.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

·         Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;

·         Be a publicly or privately held business;

·         Have a facility in the United States;

·         Have a minimum of 15 employees working in the United States;

·         Must be in business a minimum of 1 year; and

·         Must be an accounting firm.

Since its founding in June 2009, Purk & Associates has achieved significant financial growth, attracted and retained leading talent, and has been recognized by business groups and industry organizations for company awards and recognition of individual employees.

Purk & Associates has doubled the number of full-time positions since 2009 to more than 25 professionals and with turnover of less than 4 percent. Revenue has doubled within the past several years and is expected to exceed $5 million in 2015. The firm’s team members collectively have contributed hundreds of hours of accounting and other professional services to a variety of non-profits throughout the St. Louis region.

Companies from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firms to Work for. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final ranking.
