The tooth is then rocked back and forth, or sometimes broken up and removed. The site is then cleaned. If necessary, the wound will be stitched together.

After the surgery, it is recommended to relax as to not promote excess bleeding. Make sure to drink plenty of water, though not through a straw. A diet of soft foods will be recommended until the healing has progressed.
