Fun Ways To Reduce Stress and be creative

Sept. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- It is not surprising that many people suffer from stress on a daily basis. I used to be one of those people. Luckily, I learned to cope with my stress. Today, I lead a much healthier and happier lifestyle. I have found that there are some fun and easy ways to reduce stress in my life. Learning to relax was one of the most important factors in improving my overall health.

Simple Ways To Relax

Reading or journaling is very relaxing for me. I love to read a good mystery or journal about my daily activities and observations. These two pleasures are very peaceful and comforting to my soul.

Listening to music is another very simple and fun way to relax and reduce stress. The music I listen to is soothing and not too jarring. Jazz and easy listening are two of my favorite types of music to listen to when I want to unwind.

I also like to relax by watching a movie. Soaking in a warm bath is also a wonderful way to relax my body and mind. As the warm water eases the tension in my muscles, I sense the stress fade away. Taking a short nap during the day or after a hard day’s work is also very relaxing to me. Getting the proper amount of sleep at night is a great way for my body to rejuvenate itself. During the night, I like to get about eight hours of sleep.

Change In Diet

I also found that a change in my diet helped reduce my stress levels. I cut down on my intake of caffeine and sugars and started drinking green tea and chamomile tea more often. Unlike coffee or soda, these two herbal teas are healthy and calming.

Also, I cut way down on the junk foods and started eating more fresh fruits, fish, nuts and vegetables. When I eat healthy foods such as grapefruit, berries, lettuce and yogurt on a daily basis, I feel more energized. I eat at least two servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day.

Laugh Stress Away

It may seem silly, but laughter is one of the best ways to reduce stress. I feel fantastic after I have had my laugh fest for the day. Whenever I watch a funny movie or one of those old half hour situation comedies, I laugh the entire time the show or movie is on. At first, I was skeptical but came to realize that laughter is really a great way to ease stress.
