Power of a Smile Fundraiser Next Month Will Bring Hope to Children in Need

Sept. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- PALO ALTO, CA, SEPT 14, 2015 – Dr. Eric Wu, owner of Wu Orthodontics and founder of the Midpeninsula Chapter of Smile for a Lifetime, will host the first ever Power of a Smile Fundraiser on October 8^th.  Smile for a Lifetime is a national non-profit organization providing no-cost braces to underserved children.  Dr. Wu founded the Midpeninsula Chapter and is asking for the community’s support to give more children the opportunity to benefit from the organization.

“A smile can change so much in a young person’s life. My favorite part of treating the Smile for a Lifetime scholars is watching the transformation from beginning of treatment to the end of treatment where they come out of their shell and have increased self-esteem and confidence. This fundraiser is just another way to help us give our children the confidence they deserve,” explains Dr. Eric Wu.

Dr. Wu and the Board Members of Smile for a Lifetime Midpeninsula have been working around the clock to make this event a success. They aim to raise $10,000 for the organization which will be used to cover the cost of braces, cleanings, fillings, surgery and advanced orthodontic tech support for the selected candidates.

“Our generation owes to the generation behind us a plan to make sure our children are ready for the world. To have an organization that is focused on just that, building confidence and getting our kids ready to go out and face the world, is really important to me,” says Terry Godfrey, Board Member of Smile for a Lifetime, Midpeninsula.
