Census Bureau Survey Shows Remarkable Minority Business Growth

WASHINGTON - Sept. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The US Department of Commerce Bureau of the Census Survey of Business Owners (SBO) “provides the only comprehensive, regularly collected source of information on selected economic and demographic characteristics for businesses and business owners by gender, ethnicity, race, and veteran status.” This is one of the most comprehensive business survey datasets in the US, with 1.75 million businesses surveyed.

Preliminary data from the 2012 Survey of Business Owners shows that, from 2007 to 2012, the number of Asian, Black and Native American firms increased, while the number of white firms declined slightly.

. “The final revised survey data will be released in December 2015 and will include expanded geography (U.S., states, metropolitan area, counties and places) and industry (2- through 6-digit NAICS) detail.”
