Sept. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- ATHENS - August 10, 2015 The Planet Development Corporation in line with its business plan and strategy of building the Planet Development Ecosystem is announcing the first project with a 100 mln. EUR investment – Planet Fibre, this being the first step of building the underlying infrastructure.

Planet Fibre is a 1Gbps fiber network cross Europe, similar in many respects to the Google Fiber effort, but built with a different financial model and using newer proprietary technology allowing for lower cost of build and ownership, ultimately leading to a considerably lower price for the end consumer.

The first country of implementation has been chosen as Greece, and the fiber will be offered on a wholesale basis, with one of the companies that receives access being Tilefonia Company (www.tilefonia.com), a related entity, to build and run the network in Greece. In view of the companies goals as also the current Greek financial crisis of 2008 – 2015, the price for the Planet Fibre service for the Greek end consumer has been capped at 20 EUR per month. The project will create 3700 direct and indirect jobs for the next 2.5 years as also 860 permanent jobs going forward in Greece.

The company will announce the second country of implementation before the summer of 2016, and in Greece aims to provide at least 40% coverage by end of 2016 and 60% coverage by end of 2017.
