Granville BID Announces Sept. 20 Car, Truck and Bike Spectacular Event in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - Sept. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The Granville Business Improvement District will rev up early fall in Milwaukee with its first annual Car, Truck and Bike Spectacular, scheduled Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on north 76^th Street.

“This event is much more than a car show. It’s a celebration of what Granville is and recognition of a gem of an area that is often overlooked,” said Mary Hoehne, Executive Director of the Granville Business Improvement District and Granville Economic Development Corp. “This event has something for all – we invite everyone to visit and have fun in a new area.”

Up to 250 cars, trucks, motorcycles and customized vehicles will be displayed, stretching along the thriving auto dealership corridor between north Good Hope and Bradley roads. Participating dealers are Amato, Autowise, Heiser’s Quick Motors, Hansen Brothers, Russ Darrow Group, Van Horn Latino and CARite. Registration and parking are at Van Horn Latino, 7550 N. 76^th St.

Admission is free to the public. The inaugural event (http://www.granvillebusiness.org/granville-car-show--bike...) promises plenty of entertainment and family fun on a Sunday when the Green Bay Packers play a night game. Along with the extensive field of unique cars and bikes, the show will feature live music by the Rhythm Kings, and live “Hot Rod Radio” by Capt’n Bob & Arlo.

Many of Milwaukee’s best food trucks will offer their culinary creations. Vendors for both car enthusiasts and spectators will sell distinctive items.

The display entry fee is $10 per vehicle. All proceeds will benefit Granville Economic Development Corporation (http://www.granvillebusiness.org/gedc.html) Youth Programs, which connect local students to Granville businesses via scholarships, mentoring and apprenticeships. The first 100 registrants will receive a goody bag.

Judges will award 28 trophies in more than 20 classes of cars, trucks and bikes. Awards begin at 2:30 p.m.

Created in February 2013 to spur economic development and revitalization of Milwaukee’s far northwest side, the Granville Business Improvement District contains more than 300 businesses covering a broad swath of industrial, service and retail market segments. The district hosts thousands of employees every work day, and is home to the most concentrated base of industrial employment in Wisconsin.
