Mississippi Regional Housing Summit will be held in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. - Sept. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- The City of Vicksburg will host the inaugural Mississippi Regional Housing Summit at the Vicksburg Convention Center on September 20-22.   The Theme of the Summit is “Exploring the Future of Housing Together”. The Housing Summit will be focusing on the Delta region of our state which encompasses U.S.House of Representatives, Bennie Thompson’s 2nd Congressional District. The goal for the Summit is to introduce creative ideas and provide information on new and innovative housing concepts, such as building ultra-efficient homes that combine state-of-the art energy-efficient construction, creating a home that is more comfortable, durable and affordable. Breakout sessions will be held with speakers from various organizations to discuss new sources of funding, as well as new alternative options for housing that will increase the quality and affordability of the housing stock of communities.  The attendees will have a chance to tour new innovative factory built homes that will be on display during the Housing Summit.

The keynote speakers will be Congressman Bennie Thompson and Edward Jennings of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Housing Summit will host various speakers and break-out sessions that mayors, alderman, supervisors, developers, and other local business leaders will find very informative and educational.  These sessions can also assist in enhancing and building communities.
