LAS VEGAS - Sept. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- When it comes to taking care of our veterans, we all need to do our part. Interbike: the largest annual gathering of the bicycle industry in North America is coming to Las Vegas, Nevada and is stepping up, going above and beyond by joining Forgotten Not Gone in their mission to help prevent veteran suicides. The 501(c)(3) Veteran For Purpose Organization will have a booth #15122  at Interbike 2015 thanks to the expo’s donation.

Interbike is an annual bicycle exposition that brings together more than 750 companies that represent 1,200 brands with players throughout the bicycle industry. Participants and visitors educate and celebrate cycling. The show presents as a massive marketplace for cyclists as well as a way for them to meet, share information, and learn. This year Interbike will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from September 16 through September 18.

September is National suicide prevention month and Forgotten Not Gone is extending a very big Thank You to Interbike for allowing them to raise awareness at the prestigious International Bicycle Expo via Interbike’s generous booth donation. Forgotten Not Gone uses recumbent trikes as a form of therapy to End the 22 Daily Veterans suicides so this makes Interbike an excellent show to set up an exhibit and garner support.

Forgotten Not Gone is committed to ending the pain and devastation of suicide that affect veterans and their families. The organization utilizes physical, emotional, and spiritual activities that are designed to draw veterans out and encourage them to re-engage with society. Once they return home from military service, many veterans face isolation, loneliness, and depression. Through activities sponsored by Forgotten Not Gone, including the use of recumbent trikes, they help them rediscover the joy of living again.”

“We will be using our booth to raise awareness of the 22 Daily Veteran suicides as well as share information on our efforts to help end this tragedy,” says Kelly Guidry. “We will also use it to seek sponsors and in kind product donations for our Forgotten Not Gone Veteran Healing and Wellness Center.”

The organization has several levels of sponsorship that make it possible for anyone to contribute and help a veteran. The Healing and Wellness Center addresses healing at the physical, spiritual, and emotional levels. As Forgotten Not Gone continues to grow, the organization seeks to provide veterans with alternative forms of healing and therapy including acupuncture, colonics, talk therapy, recumbent trikes, and more. All services are completely free of charge for veterans and the facility is seeking Veteran volunteers to staff the center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing veterans full access to a safe place where they can get the help they need and begin to heal.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 3000 people on average commit suicide daily and about one million people choose to end their own lives each year. Suicide rates are at an all-time high for Veterans with 22 veterans committing suicide every day. Additionally, for every one person who commits suicide, 20 or more make attempts to end their lives.

Suicide isn’t just a veteran problem. There is no specific group that can claim it. Suicide is a societal problem that is no respecter of race, religion, ethnicity, age, or gender. It can be found anywhere.

For World Suicide Prevention Month Forgotten Not Gone aims to:

·       Raise awareness that suicide is preventable

·       Improve education about suicide

·       Spread information about suicide awareness

·       Decrease stigmatization regarding suicide

Forgotten Not Gone invites the public to come by their booth, take pictures and demo their Organic Transit Elf, Catrike #10082 on SportCrafters trike trainers.  They also extend a special thank you to, Rudy Racks #13168, SportsCrafters #11080, Utah trikes, Tribal Whips and Falco Motors #7012, #D2074 for their continued support with their products and services.”

The Forgotten Not Gone booth will be located at the Interbike Bicycle Exposition next to the Sony Booth in the Textile Zone, Booth #15122 September 16-18. Those seeking more information can also visit the Forgotten Not Gone Interbike Profile Page.
