"Quintessentially San Francisco" at the Telegraph Hill Gallery

SAN FRANCISCO - Sept. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The Telegraph Hill Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Quintessentially San Francisco an exhibition of the recent work of contemporary realist painters Brandon Smith of Oakland and Thalia Stratton of San Francisco. The show runs from September 4 through September 30, 2015 with an artist reception on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The exhibition will feature 30 oil paintings exploring San Francisco’s iconic landmarks, landscapes, and cityscapes.

Smith and Stratton both have deep knowledge rooted in the tradition of the old masters. Both cite Edouard Manet as a huge inspiration. Smith adds contemporary Spanish painter Antonio Lopez Garcia as an influence while Stratton refers to John Singer Sargent.
