NBIA is Now INBIA – The International Business Innovation Association

As the Leading Organization for Business Incubation for 30 Years, the National Business Incubation Association Announces a New Brand to Better Reflect its Membership and Mission to Advance Global Entrepreneurship and Incubation
ORLANDO, Fla. - Sept. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The newly renamed International Business Innovation Association (INBIA) has completed its rebrand initiative.  INBIA, an international non-profit organization and global advocate for stakeholders within entrepreneur-driven economic ecosystems, has consistently demonstrated that 2015 is the year for change.  Already this year the organization announced it had revamped its long-standing Business Incubation Management Certificate Program, enhanced the education catalog with the addition of new courses focused on building quality entrepreneurship programs, launched INBIA’s Global Ambassador Network, and updated its online presence to better serve members.

The business incubation industry is seeing rapid changes with the rise of new models such as seed accelerators and coworking spaces, as well as entrepreneurial-led global initiatives such as Startup Weekends, Lean Startup and more. INBIA members have embraced these changes in the industry, and the organization felt it was time for it to do the same - in a big way. Currently, nearly 30 percent of INBIA members are located outside of the United States. In fact, the international member demographics span across 60 countries. INBIA’s name change and rebrand was a natural progression in solidifying the organization’s mission of advancing entrepreneurship and incubation at a global level.

“The decision to change our name was discussed at length with a representative set of our members. We feel our new name reflects the rapid changes occurring within the business incubation industry and better represents our global membership,” states Kirstie Chadwick, President and CEO of INBIA. “It was also important that we embraced our 30-year legacy during this process, which is why we ultimately decided to keep “NBIA” within our new acronym.”

Chadwick also noted that the name change is a catalyst for an array of new initiatives over the next 12 months. Over the next year, INBIA plans to:

·   Continue expanding the educational course catalog and introduce online courses in 2016

·   Publish quality research highlighting the economic impact of business incubation

·   Launch an industry benchmark index with performance metrics for various program models

·   Proactively communicate current trends in entrepreneurial economic development

·   Increase collaboration opportunities through expanded online peer communities

·   Build key strategic partnerships that serve both members and entrepreneurs

All INBIA members were notified last Friday about INBIA’s new brand.  Since that time, the organization has been flooded with calls and emails regarding the rebrand. In addition, attendees of INBIA’s 25th Training Institute, taking place this week in Orlando, Fla., will experience the new brand as part of INBIA’s showcase of over a dozen new course offerings.
