CHICAGO - Sept. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Concrete has been leading the way as a cutting-edge material for functional accessories. Now, it’s lighting the way as well thanks to an innovative line of industrial chic fixtures featured by the Chicago-based art, design and innovation group IntoConcrete.

IntoConcrete, which has garnered international attention for its groundbreaking Corvi Wine Cooler, featured theIdéeal Ceiling lamps (http://intoconcrete.com/collections/lighting/products/ideeal-ceiling-lamp?utm_source=release&utm_medium=press&utm_campaign=ideal) and Idéeal Table lamps (http://intoconcrete.com/collections/lighting/products/ideeal-table-lamp?utm_source=release&utm_medium=press&utm_campaign=ideeal), created by Concrete Home Design, in its booth and in the pressroom at the prestigious Maison&Objet Americas show this past May in Miami Beach. “We are proud to be able to offer these lamps created by visionary concrete designer Clément Terreng to our discerning clients,” explained Mario Guagnelli, IntoConcrete CEO and Co-Founder.

The attention these lamps have received is not unexpected given their elegant, timeless design flawlessly executed in an unexpected medium. “Concrete is an amazing material,” Terreng explains. “It can be hard like a stone yet appear fragile like porcelain. As we began to work with it, we quickly realized that its potential - to be formed, to be cast - may have no limits but ourselves.”

Indeed, the inspiration for the Idèeal Lamps was unexpectedly organic. Terreng was captivated by the lines and distinctive shape of an onion and married that form with the retro 60s glamour common in James Bond movie interiors. The lamps boast a classic silhouette reminiscent of old enamel factory lights. The graceful concrete body is paired with a crystal glass diffuser to provide a modern twist on a classic style.

He also wanted to create a concrete lamp that was surprisingly thin, so he eliminated all but the most necessary mass of the material, testing the limits in this beautiful marriage of form and function. “I like my ideas to surprise people. That’s the reason why I try to create ‘natural contrasts:’ the weight of the concrete, the transparency of the glass, the light of the lights.”

The lamps are an expression of Concrete Home Design’s vision and IntoConcrete’s passion for of making concrete beautiful by pushing the boundaries of the material’s possible forms, colors and structures. The company hand produces premium, exposed-concrete products, so that each piece is unique, with its own texture and polish. The Idèeal lamps, for example, feature a velvety exposed concrete.

Available in both ceiling and table versions, and in three colors, there is certain to be a style that’s right at home in any décor. Contact us for more information on the Idèeal lamps or a link to our complete press kit.
