SYDNEY - Sept. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Australia’s Sterling Cinema announced overnight their latest feature film OBSERVANCE will be showcases in its UK Premiere at the glamourous BFI London Film Festival in October as part of the famed ‘Cult’ series.

The Joseph Sims-Dennett directed film had its world premiere at Montreal’s 19th Fantasia International Film Festival in July where it received critical acclaim with The Hollywood Reporter describing the horror/mystery film as “One of the most chilling experiences”, with Bloody-Disgusting proclaiming the viewing experience as “Pure psychological horror” and indieWIRE saying “For sheer ambient dread, it’s aces”.

“We couldn’t have been happier with the response out of North America which has subsequently generated enormous international interest in this independent Aussie film with the London Film Festival taking OBSERVANCE to a whole new level, signifying that this small, personal film is truly connecting with a big audience,”said Sims-Dennett.

The next stop for OBSERVANCE in the festival circuit will be Germany’s celebrated Oldenburg International Film Festival (September 16-20) followed by the renowned Vancouver International Film Festival (September 24 to October 8), with the film featuring as part of the ‘Altered States’ genre series which last year screened acclaimed films ‘It Follows’, ‘A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night’ and Australia’s ‘Infinite Man’.

Oldenburg called the film an electrifying discovery” and “in the politically timely horrors of Snowden paranoia, OBSERVANCE mirrors Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Conversation.’”

OBSERVANCE will screen its UK Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Monday 12th October with the encore screening on the 14th. The film stars Lindsay Farris in the lead role opposite Stephanie King, with Benedict Hardie, Tom O’Sullivan, John Jarratt and Brendan Cowell in the supporting cast.

Sterling Cinema’s Sims-Dennett and Josh Zammit wrote and produced the film with Shoreline Entertainment managing international sales.
