Based in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. with offices in Vero Beach and Wellington, the firm has now changed its name to Markarian Frank White-Boyd & Hayes and has expanded its practices to include business law, regulatory, project approvals, land use and development, corporate and probate litigation and estate planning, to complement the firm’s historical focus on bankruptcy, asset protection planning and agriculture law.

Markarian has extensive track record of success in providing advocacy and counsel in challenging legal, business, regulatory, governmental policy, energy and technology arenas. It comprises hands-on courtroom, appellate and regulatory legal representation includes winning scores of jury trials, landmark industry and regulatory proceedings including complex commercial & contract cases, and successful handling of cases involving protection of intellectual property, theft of trade secrets, energy and trading, transmission, employment law, “NIMBY” cases, along with nuisance, “takings,” bankruptcy, chemical exposure, products liability, wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims.

Markarian spent nearly a decade with one of the country’s leading Fortune 200 companies, NextEra Energy/Florida Power & Light (with operations in 26 states, Canada and Spain) pursuing solutions to our nation’s energy challenges. His responsibilities extended beyond traditional legal work, including serving as a corporate officer responsible for special projects, and development and management of corporate strategy and key initiatives. In two of Markarian’s last roles at the company, he was in charge of revamping and re-shaping the company’s state legal regulatory and governmental policy group outside of Florida with responsibility across the nation. Thereafter, he was assigned to Washington, D.C. to manage the company’s federal governmental affairs office and to secure the company’s two most important federal governmental policy initiatives.

After leaving NextEra, Markarian served as Senior Policy Advisor for EnergySavvy, a respected Seattle-based technology company. In addition, he has handled strategic legal, regulatory, compliance and governmental affairs policy planning and execution for technology, competitive and regulated industries dedicated to supporting efficiency, innovation and conservation in industry.

“I have worked alongside coalitions of small businesses, senior corporate leadership and elected officials to identify required resources and potential legal and policy roadblocks, creating and executing strategic implementation plans to achieve maximum profitability at marginal cost and risk, generating win-win outcomes,” said Markarian.

One of Markarian’s current interests is assuring the success of All Aboard Florida, which he believes will help foster economic growth throughout the region. “Having lived in a region served by efficient passenger rail service, I’m confident that All Aboard Florida will make a positive impact on our communities and businesses”, said Markarian.

Early in his legal career, Markarian was a corporate litigation trial counsel for Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, a partner with Heise, Markarian & Foreman P.A., and a partner with Haddad, Josephs, Jack, Gaebe & Markarian P.A.

Markarian is very active in environmental sustainability programs, including past service as a board member of the National Parks Trust, and the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technology. He has also served as a mentor with the University of Miami School of Law Minority Mentoring Program.

Markarian earned a juris doctor from The University of Miami School of Law, and a bachelor of science in Political Science and History from Florida State University.
