Freedom Hall in Park Forest Kicks off 2015-2016 Season

CHICAGO - Sept. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Freedom Hall in Park Forest, Illinois has some amazing acts for their 2015-2016 concert line-up! They have R&B, jazz music, Motown, blues, county and music from all of the eras.

To kick off the season, Freedom Hall has Rhythm & Blues legend Booker T. Jones opening on Friday, October 2nd. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Booker T. Jones is known for classic hits including “Green Onions,” “Hang ‘Em High,” “Time Is Tight,” and “Melting Pot”.

Ava Logan with the Southland Jazz Ensemble will perform on Sunday, November 8. Ava Logan will sing jazz music by Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, and more!

On December 4 and 5, Masters of Soul will perform an encore performance with a holiday twist! If you like Motown music, you’ll love Masters of Soul.

“Queen of the Blues,” Shemekia Copeland will rock the house on Friday, January 22, 2016. Shemekia has opened for the Rolling Stones, headlined at the Chicago Blues Festival, scored critics’ choice awards, shared the stage with Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, and has performed at the White House.

Freedom Hall’s main series will end with Shining Star – Earth, Wind and Fire Tribute on Friday, March 11, 2016. Eleven highly talented vocalists and musicians will harmoniously present A TRIBUTE TO EARTH, WIND AND FIRE, celebrating four strong decades of success.

Matinee Theatre at Freedom Hall

Freedom Hall will start their matinee theatre season with Girls Like Us – Carole King,  Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Girls Like Us, features Laura Freeman, Beckie Menzie and Marianne Murphy Orland. These fantastic ladies will showcase the music and stories of three iconic singers.

Freedom Hall is excited to have Franc D’Ambrosio perform in their Nathan Manilow Theatre in Park Forest on November 3, 2015. Franc D’Ambrosio is best known for his role as the “Phantom” in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. With over 2,300 performances, Franc D’Ambrosio has held the title of “World’s Longest Running Phantom” for nearly a decade.

Back by popular demand, Mac Frampton will sprinkle the audience with great music for the seasons on December 1. Join Freedom Hall for ‘Tis the Season as Mac plays the standards and Holiday Classics for this special show!

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements. With its unique jazz sound, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time. Come to Freedom Hall on February 9, 2016 to enjoy the sounds of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

A tribute to the music legend Patsy Cline will be on March 15, 2016. A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline features “Crazy,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “I Fall to Pieces” and many more great songs!

If you like Barbara Streisand, you’ll love Simply Streisand on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Not only does she look like Streisand, but as the New York Post raved: “…Probably the next best thing to seeing STREISAND herself.”

Freedom Hall’s matinee season closes with Travis LeDoyt’s Movie Night With the King on May 10, 2016. Through his remarkable resemblance and his incredible talent to emulate the voice and style, Travis flawlessly captures the essence of Elvis in his prime.

Freedom Hall also presents a Children’s Theatre production each year. This year, Freedom Hall will present Chicken Dance by the ArtsPower National Touring Theatre on Friday, February 12, 2016. This musical production, for audiences of all ages, portrays the colorful story of Marge and Lola, two barnyard chickens on a mission to win the barnyard talent contest first prize of two tickets to see the great Elvis Poultry in concert!
