Harvesting body parts of aborted babies is ‘ghoulish,’ says AMAC

'It’s not a partisan issue; it is an ethical issue, pure and simple'

WASHINGTON - Sept. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- “The harvesting of body parts from aborted babies, for whatever reason, is not a partisan issue; it is a ghoulish, inhuman business, pure and simple,” according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

The practice of selling the body parts of dead babies to laboratories came to light in recent weeks when undercover video was produced showing that Planned Parenthood has been actively marketing fetal organs to researchers.  The organization performs hundreds of thousands of abortions each year and admits it systematically processes the cadavers to gather organs for researchers.  It also says its principal activity is dealing with women’s health issues.

Weber is a pro-life and human rights advocate but he says that whether you are pro-life or pro-choice is not the issue in this instance.  “A person’s political leanings have no relevance when you are confronting an obvious desecration.  How can anyone defend the mutilation of a dead infant?  It’s unconscionable and unethical and many scientists say it is also unnecessary.”

Dr. David Prentice is a highly regarded expert in the field of stem cell research.  He states that “Cries for more human embryonic stem cell lines to be made available for federal funding are unjustified, as research on current lines shows insufficient evidence that they are either safe or effective.  Proponents are playing on the emotions of the vulnerable--lacking facts and making empty promises.  In contrast, adult stem cells (as well as umbilical cord blood stem cells) have already shown effectiveness in treating disease.  It may be surprising to know that there have been hundreds of quiet advances in adult stem cell research while the loud praise heaped on embryonic stem cells lacks scientific credibility.”

In other words, says Weber, “you don’t have to kill babies for the sake of research.”

So, if fetal body parts are unnecessary, why does Planned Parenthood engage in the business of selling bits and pieces of the babies they abort?  Could it be because it is a lucrative side-line?  One of the organization’s customers, StemExpress, admits in its corporate brochure that it is, indeed, “fiscally” rewarding for those who have access to organs.

“There are those that will take exception to my views on this issue.  Perhaps they will claim that I am taking a partisan position.  But, the fact is you don’t have to be liberal, conservative or religious to take umbrage at something as abhorrent as the defilement of the human remains of hapless, innocent babies.  It is time for us to unite and disavow such atrocities as the harvesting of body parts and support humanitarian medical research practices.  Let’s put off political posturing for a later date.”
