Nu Deco Ensemble Presents Inaugural 2015-16 Season One At Light Box At Goldman Warehouse Sept 25-26

MIAMI - Sept. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Nu Deco Ensemble, a Miami-based 21st Century chamber orchestra that presents work from all music genres in collaborative performances, is presenting “Season One”, its inaugural 2015-2016 season, beginning with a concert entitled “Concert One” at the Light Box at Goldman Warehouse in Wynwood at 404 NW 26 Street on September 25 and 26. Nu Deco will be collaborating with Brika, the 20-year old award-winning Miami-native. The September 25 performance, from 8pm-10pm is general admission and tickets are $30 per person. The September 26, from 8pm – 12am is a VIP performance. VIP Tickets are $80 per person and include the concert admission, complimentary drinks and an after party with bites by STK Miami and a performance by the band Eons. “We are thrilled that our debut concert received acclaimed reviews and was a tremendous success allowing us to launch a full performance season with a variety of collaborators,” said Sam Hyken, co-artistic director of Nu Deco Ensemble. “By blending classical music with different genres and collaborators, Nu Deco creates a unique sound not found anywhere else in South Florida.”

Nu Deco Ensemble conducted a sold out show for an audience of more than 200 people at its debut concert last April at the Light Box. The September 25 and 26 performances will be conducted in collaboration with musical artist Brika. Below is a list of the works to be performed during “Concert One"

Nu Deco’s 2015-16 ‘Season One’ is highly innovative and eclectic featuring six different programs including Concert One- Nu Deco at the Light Box, Concert Two- Water Music at the Deering Estate, Concert Three- Nu Deco at the North Beach Band Shell, Concert Four- Nu Deco at the Light Box, Concert Five- Miami in Concert Against Hate (presented by the Anti-Defamation League) and Concert Six- N u Deco at the Light Box.

Hyken has a diverse and successful orchestral musical career spanning the globe. He is on the faculty at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, a performer (trumpeter), producer, arranger, and composer. Hyken co-founded Nu Deco Ensemble with Jacomo Bairos, a Miami native, who is the musical director of the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra.

At only 20 years old, Brika is an American Singer/Songwriter who was selected by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers as the Latin on the Spot in June 2014. Named Artist on the Verge by New Music Seminar, she released her first album, Voice Memos, in December 2014.

Nu Deco Ensemble, a recipient of a 2014 Arts Challenge grant in the amount of $75,000 from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, is a vehicle to connect artists in Miami with one another to inspire collaborative performances. The group also provides leadership in genre-bending musical exploration to create new hybrids of musical expression.
