Follow on Google News | Independent Sci-fi television series Shotgun Mythos finds distribution with 20/20 ProductionsBy: Shotgun Mythos The original web series, which is described as a sci-fi noir, combines mythology, Biblical references and folklore to create a world where the legends are real and not the stuff of children's stories. During the course of promoting the series, they discovered an audience on small television stations. "Most small, independent filmmakers don't tackle a full television series," Gaige says. "It is an unbelievable amount of work. We started editing the scripts and making sure they were the right length a year ago. We started on sets and pre-production in December, and our amazing cast was here filming every week from February to July." In May, as primary filming was nearing completion, Gaige was contacted by 20/20 Productions. The company, which distributes numerous web series and is behind the DC WebFest, thought that Shotgun Mythos would be a good addition to their stable of programs. "Building a fantasy world with historical and biblical undertones from scratch would be difficult for any big-budget film or television producer," says Otessa Ghadar, Founder of 20/20 Productions. "Clint & Darla Gaige have managed to be compelling world builders with their web series "Shotgun Mythos". Their intricate story and high production value are helping to elevate the DC region's standing as a hub for new media." In addition to filming the full television series, the Shotgun Mythos team also launched a companion piece called "Decoding Mythos". Hosted by Jeff Mueller, podcaster and founder of the geek fitness site thejerd.com, the show features interviews with the cast, and dives into the mythology and back story behind each episode. "With Decoding Mythos added into the mix, we will be releasing over 700 minutes of content this season." The first two episodes of both Shotgun Mythos and Decoding Mythos are now available online through 20/20 Productions at http://www.twentytwentyproductions.com/ And where is the show going from here? "We are still in post production on several episodes, but writing for Season 2 has already begun," says Gaige. "There is a lot more story that we want to tell. And we hope that the fans enjoy it."
