Researchers monitored their sleeping patterns, alchohol intake, smoking habits and stress levels. They were then deliberately injected with a cold virus, then monitored for the next two weeks. Those who slept for 6 hours or less were found to be more than 4 times as likely to catch the cold than those who got closer to the recommended 7 or 8 hours a night.
