SAVANNAH, Ga. - Sept. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- (Savannah, GA) Park Place Outreach, in partnership with the Coastal Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America is raising funds for local at-risk youth by participating in Savannah’s tallest and most exciting fundraiser, Over the Edge. Rarely do non-profit organizations share their fundraising opportunities, but that is just what the Boy Scouts and Park Place Outreach are doing as they prepare to rappel off the roof and down the side of the historic Manger Building in downtown Savannah on Friday, October 30.

Each participant must raise $1000 in pledges for the charitable cause of their choice in order to earn their rappel experience, and the first Edger to reach the pledge goal this year is Park Place Outreach Board of Directors member, Dr. Todd Cellini. Dr. Cellini shared this information, “I have seen the important role that Park Place Outreach plays for local youth age 11 to 17 who are going through a stressful period or are homeless or victims of abuse. Park Place Outreach gives emergency shelter, meals and counseling to at-risk youth and their families, and is the only local shelter that allows youth to self-admit.”

Park Place Outreach Executive Board President, Jack Levine, who is also registered to go Over the Edge, added “My interest in Park Place Outreach began after reading an article about the plight of America’s homeless children. The article motivated me to do some research to find out who is helping the homeless children right here in Savannah and this is when I found out about Park Place Outreach, which has quietly served our area for 31 years and has helped more than 6500 kids during that time.”
