Volansys extends its services to next-gen Home automation solutions with Amazon Echo

MILPITAS, Calif. - Sept. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Automated homes are more or less a trend. And yes, it is meant to stay in the long run. Apparently, big tech labels like Apple, Google and Amazon are running a close marathon in the automation market. After falling in love with Apple's Siri, the world is now being increasingly exposed to Amazon's babe, Alexa.

Alexa is a home automation mediator that utilizes Amazon's cloud to perform remote operations when instructed by a home owner. She is basically a Bluetooth enabled voice recognizer and speaker, who has been coded to follow instructions that have been spoken out from across a room or from another room. It is connected to internet through WiFi and paired with mobile devices with Bluetooth 4. It has voice recognizer and speaker facility, which follows instructions that have been spoken out from across a room or from another room. Further, it also follows commands that have been communicated to it through an additional remote.  With the capacity to pick up even the softest voice wavelengths and speak out at an immersive resonance, Alexa is sure to entice a commendable population base into bringing her home.

In a nutshell, Alexa answers to questions asked by the home owner, plays music and controls smart devices. The basic tech utility service driving Alexa is Amazon Connected Home (CoHo). It communicates between Appliance Drivers (AWS Lambda Functions) and Alexa-Amazon Cloud. Witnessing the acceptance that Alexa has received in the market, it is clear that third party IOT enablers and integrators have an extensive scope of twisting and turning things here and there.

The biggest challenges that currently look them into eyes, however are the facts that Alexa is compatible only with Amazon's cloud and follows a set configuration protocol.
