Hebert Research and Tukwila: Working Together to Raise Stormwater Awareness

The City of Tukwila and Hebert Research have implemented a program aiming to raise awareness of stormwater practices

TUKWILA, Wash. - Aug. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Here in Washington, pollution caused by stormwater runoff  containing harmful chemicals and debris that gets deposited in lakes and other bodies of water is a huge problem. To gauge awareness of proper techniques in dealing with, and minimizing hazardous runoff, Tukwila, alongside Bellevue based Hebert Research, has implemented a program which looks at what common misconceptions people might have regarding stormwater runoff, and looking at how to best promote the best management practices amongst the citizens of Tukwila and neighboring areas.

After extensive research, including phone surveys and other sampling techniques, Hebert Research found that the current satisfaction with the cleanliness of the water in Tukwila is the highest it’s ever been, and that awareness of stormwater issues, and adoption of good management practices has increased, showing an overall step in the right direction in making Tukwila a clean and environmentally friendly city, and leading the way for all of Washington in ecofriendly practices.
