Zd Wines Prepares For 50th Anniversary By Harvesting Fruit For First Sparkling Wine

NAPA, Calif. - Aug. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- ZD WINES PREPARES FOR 50^th ANNIVERSARY BY HARVESTING FRUIT FOR FIRST SPARKLING WINE

RUTHERFORD, Calif., August 31, 2015 – ZD Wines, located on the Silverado Trail in Rutherford, has announced they are making their first sparkling wine in anticipation of their upcoming 50^th anniversary in 2018. Pinot Noir sourced from the winery’s CCOFcertified organic Carneros Estate Vineyard was harvested Sunday, August 9^th at 20 degrees brix for the production of a premiere sparkling wine. The earliest harvest to date in their 47 year history, ZD anticipates releasing the first bottling in time to celebrate the winery’s 50^th anniversary on January 1, 2018.

“Making a sparkling wine to celebrate our 50^th anniversary made perfect sense. This special bottling will set the tone for celebrating our history while also looking forward to a bright future!” said Robert deLeuze, CEO/Winemaster for ZD Wines.

ZD Winemakers Chris Pisani and Brandon deLeuze are working with consultant Keith Hock, previously Winemaker at Schramsberg Vineyards, to help craft the commemorative sparkling wine.

It is particularly appropriate that the firstgrapes harvested for ZD’s celebratory sparkling wine are from their Carneros Estate Pinot Noir vineyard block which defines their flagship wine, the Founder’s Reserve Pinot Noir. This single-vineyard selection is bottled each year in memory of ZD Wines Founder, Norman deLeuze.

The limited edition bubbly will make its debut at ZD’s 50^th anniversary celebration, being held on December 31, 2017 and carrying on throughout 2018.
