Westdale and StreetLights Announce Plans for First Multi-Family High-Rise in Deep Ellum

Aug. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Westdale andStreetLights Residential announced today their latest development planned for the Deep Ellum neighborhood. Located at the intersection of Hall and Main, the 17-story project, named The Case Building, will be the first high-rise multifamily development in Deep Ellum and will include 337 units ranging from 500 square feet to 1,300 square feet.

“Deep Ellum is known for its rich art and music scene.  The ability for residents to walk or bike to local galleries, music venues, restaurants and shops fits well with Streetlights’ vision of a neighborhood-friendly urban development,” said StreetLights CEO Doug Chesnut. “The population in this area continues to grow, and StreetLights is excited to provide a building inspired by the architecture and style of Deep Ellum for this expanding community.”

StreetLights intends to maintain the integrity of Deep Ellum’s culture in the building’s design. The units will mirror the industrial feel of the area with 10-foot concrete ceilings, exposed brick walls and open metal shelving in the kitchens.  Studio, one- and two-bedroom options will be offered along with parking in a private, secure garage.

“We anticipate this project will resonate well with Deep Ellum residents, and we look forward to seeing the finished product,” said Westdale President and CEO Joe Beard.

The building will feature an open office experience with a business lounge, conference space and studio offices. Local artists’ work will also be incorporated in the space. Additional amenities include a club room with coffee bar; full-service bar; pool table; a private dining room; a dog wash station; and a bike storage room with bike repair equipment. Residents will also enjoy a robust offering of fitness options including a fitness center overlooking the outdoor pool/courtyard area featuring Technogym cardio equipment and strength training machines. A Flex Fitness Center will feature MyRide indoor cycling, yoga mats and a ballet barre.

StreetLights is developing the project and StreetLights Residential Texas Construction LLC is serving as the general contractor. Project lease-up is expected to begin in early 2017 with the first units expected to deliver in spring 2017.
