According to the agreement, the Ministry of Social Development will benefit from the experiences of the distinguished teachers in teaching the children of Al-Hussein Foundation for Orphans helping them develop both educationally and academically.

The agreement; which was signed by both H.E. Social Development Minister, Ms. Reem Abu Hassan, and QRAE Executive Director Ms. Lubna Touqan, stipulates the Association will nominate distinguished teachers to provide specially designed reinforcement programmes for the children of Al Hussein Social Foundation.

According to the Association, the collaboration presents an opportunity to motivate the distinguished educators helping them enhance their technical and educational skills, and spread a culture of excellence which in turn allows for the publication of the winners’ success stories. The distinguished educators are considered to be change agents within their community cooperating together to increase the community’s appreciation of the teaching profession not forgetting that their knowledge, and passionate positivity elevates the morale within communities inspiring others to further serve and join the educational sector with absolute passion.

H.E. Minister of Social Development, Reem Abu Hassan, highlighted the importance of working with children missing family support, which in turn requires enforcing coordination between the concerned parties, whether it is a governmental or a non-governmental entity.

“We count on The Association of Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education to have an impact on the academic achievement of the Foundation’s children, which I believe can be replicated into other children’s centres in the near future.” H.E. Abu Hassan added.

Executive Director of the Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education Association, Ms. Lubna Touqan, confirmed the importance of this agreement, which is intended to spread the knowledge and expertise of distinguished teachers. Those passionate teachers can provide the children with the support and assistance needed to help them become active members of society who inspire rationality and act with humanity.

A 2013 distinguished teacher award-winner, Ms. Fotouh Khareeta, from Queen Nour Al Hussein Comprehensive Secondary School for girls, participated in the initiative and commented by saying: “It’s a rewarding feeling to work with orphaned children, and help them plan and build their future. Orphans don’t only need financial support, but they need psychological support to increase their self-confidence and increase their motivation towards learning.”

She added: "I was saddened by the general weakness in their level of achievement, and I tried to help as much as I could. I learned from them, I had the opportunity to interact with them on a personal level. They are kind and loving children, and I sensed their passion for learning and the desire to improve their academic results. I am truly blessed and delighted to be part of this experience.”
