MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - Aug. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Smith & Wesley have hit a nerve with twin guitars and twin vocals. Unusual, but it really works. Playing heavily in UK/EURO/US/AU

The line between modern country music and southern rock is pretty blurry these days; either descriptor is apt for the album's opening cut "Thirty Pieces," classic not only in it's hot guitar riffing but also in its mention of trains, coal mining and the good old southland. "Bottle Half Full" is old style country (think Buck Owens) but modern sounding songs about whiskey and drinkin', workin' hard, and trying to figure out love fill out most of the album, representative of the fact that the appeal here is to the ordinary guy with universal concerns, and who obviously also likes to party. ~ Kevin Wierzbicki, Route 66 AntiMusic

Parcbench Review:

Choices & Chances is the debut album from Smith & Wesley. The pair of brothers (Scott and Todd Smith) make music that blends all the best of rural music, from Southern rock to bluegrass to traditional country. If you’re from the Chattanooga, Tennessee area, you’re probably very familiar with them, since they have a large and loyal fan base there. But if you’re new to their consistently impressive country/rock, you’re in for a good time as you check out this CD.

The first single off the album is “Need Somebody Bad.” It should serve as a great proper introduction to the duo for country fans still waiting to discover them. The song has that undefinable quality that results in wanting to sing along with it, even during one’s first listen. Repeated listens only translate into greater enjoyment, of course. It’s got a lot going for it and I hope to hear it prominently featured on the radio this summer.

Essential Downloads: “Need Somebody Bad,” “You’re The One,” “Country Dreams.”
