MIAMI - Aug. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Joshua’s Heart will hold its Annual Junior Advisory Board Leadership Conference this Saturday, August, 29th from 8:00am to 3:00pm at FIU Biscayne Bay campus. The workshop focuses on teaching the importance of being leaders in their community, having compassion for the less fortunate while encouraging members to spread the word about volunteering among their peers. This year, FIU’s Team Rope Adventure Challenge (TRAC) program will be the teambuilding model that delivers homogeneous solutions that drives strategic planning, time management and negotiation skills, while building trust and support among team members.

JHF is one of the few organizations that allows young people to volunteer even at the tender age of 2. The group’s founder and president, Joshua Williams, started the foundation at the tender age of 4 ½ and all his volunteers, some 6,000+, are heavily, involved, at some level, in the running and execution of their mission to stomp out world hunger. Because Joshua’s Heart is run by young people, they are uniquely qualified to inspire their volunteers to aspire to work towards achieving higher goals. It also allows young people to see people who look like them, make powerful decisions to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than themselves.

The organization is currently accepting applications for JAB (Junior Advisory Board) Members at the Junior High School and High School levels. JHF’s JAB has a long history of molding our future leaders of tomorrow through their well-rounded mentoring and volunteering programs. JAB members are the actual board of directors for the foundation and as such, they are charged with making decisions that affect the overall running of the company. It also allows them the opportunity to plan fundraising events while developing leadership skills. These all important skillsets ultimately lead to growth in self-confidence, heightened social interaction skills and improved physical and emotional wellbeing.

To learn more about volunteering with Joshua’s Heart or becoming a Junior Advisory Board member, interested candidates can participate in the next JAB informational mixer on Oct 17th. More information is available at www.joshuasheart.org/jab.
