KAMPALA, Uganda - Aug. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- On Friday, August 28, 2015, Cellulant will celebrate with Centenary Bank Uganda in unveiling a mobile payment platform that enables customers to transfer money from various channels with ease.  The leading Commercial Microfinance Bank in Uganda will now provide Mobile Money Services connecting its customers through integrations into MTN Money and Airtel Money platforms, as well as the Centenary Bank’s core banking system. The platform, designed and powered by Cellulant, essentially provides connectivity between the MNO’s and the bank’s support and customer activation.

Congratulating Centenary Bank on this momentous occasion, Cellulant Group’s Business Development Manager, Felix Nthigah, states “ Deeply engrained in the Cellulant DNA is the pursuit of providing African solutions to African challenges the African way- with Africans at the forefront. This is the value we exemplify by providing an ecosystem where both banks and merchants can  be empowered and connect to their customers with ease.  We are happy to see this come to fruition with Centenary Bank.”

Having been in the market since 2014, this platform is to date the most successful mobile commerce product in the UG market – moving over UGX 13B per month and hence reducing the cost of withdrawals and deposits for Centenary Bank and significantly increasing deposits for Mobile Wallets.
