Fort Worth, TX – Just Between Friends (JBF) of Fort Worth, Texas’ largest children’s and maternity consignment sales event, is once again hosting their popular semi-annual sale.  DFW Metroplex families are being encouraged to register as consignors and bring their gently-used children’s and maternity clothing, toys, and baby equipment to the JBF Fort Worth sale to turn those itesms into cash.  These items will then be available to area families to purchase at 50-90% off retail prices.  Families can expect a wide variety of fall and winter clothing, Halloween costumes, holiday wear, sports equipment, and baby gear to be available for purchase.  The sale is a great way for families to maximize their budgets while keeping still-useful items out of Metroplex landfills. After the success of the spring event, the fall event will once again be dedicated to “saving the world one closet at a time.”

According to statics, Americans discard 68 pounds of clothes annually per capita while only recycling 10 pounds of clothing.  Of these discarded items, 99% of them can be recycled.  Clothing makes up almost 5% of the total garbage in landfills.

Key for Metroplex families is that Just Between Friends Fort Worth is also announcing a new partnership with Safe Haven of Tarrant County for JBF’s Wall of Wishes.  Safe Haven provides services at no cost for victims of domestic violence.

For the “Wall of Wishes,” sale shoppers will be able to select cards off a wall that lists items that will be provided to client families of Safe Haven.  Shoppers are able to fill bags provided by JBF at the sale to turn in when they finish shopping.  Shoppers are able to write words of encouragement to recipients to be included with the gifts they have purchased for them.

In addition to benefiting Safe Haven, a portion of the sale proceeds as well as unsold merchandise is donated to local charities, Community Enrichment Center’s Open Arms Program, Teen Lifeline and Fort Worth Metro.

“The thing that makes JBF Fort Worth so different from other area children’s and maternity consignment sales events are the sheer numbers involved,” said Joanie Morrison, Owner, Just Between Friends, Fort Worth.  “As the largest sale of its kind in the entire state of Texas, we have more items available for families than any one else.  This allows not only a place for people to pass on their gently-used items, but also a place where families can purchase these items at greatly discounted prices,” stated Morrison.

“JBF really is in the business of connecting people,” Morrison said.  “And that’s what our sale does.

Plus Metroplex area families have the satisfaction of knowing their effort not only keeps items out of landfills, there is also the charitable aspect.” remarked Morrison.  “JBF is such a win/win/win for the community!”

“Also, on Saturday, September 12th, JBF Fort Worth once again gives back by hosting our Family Fun Fest Free Indoor Carnival,” said Morrison. "Families are able to come and spend the afternoon with us without spending a penny shopping.  There are carnival games, face painting, a bounce house, crafts, etc. This is our way of thanking the community for their support of JBF Fort Worth!”
