The Bigfoot Mystery tells of the adventures of two dogs and their flying friends as they investigate some strange tracks in the snow.

The Bigfoot Mystery is the third book in Rusty and Purdy's Backyard Mystery series. Rusty and Purdy are our two English Setters, rescued from certain doom by Last Chance Rescue, a local animal rescue organization. They now live with us, happily roaming our large backyard. In the Backyard Mystery stories, Rusty and Purdy converse with the birds that frequent our yard, and being naturally curious, they work to solve various mysteries that arise from time to time. In the newest story, The Bigfoot Mystery, Rusty and Purdy discover some strange, oversized and widely spaced tracks in the backyard snow. Purdy tells the story in first person. Donna the Downy Woodpecker flies high and observes that the tracks are ten feet apart. Rusty goes to see if that's possible. The photographs are intended to help the reader recognize the birds in their own backyard as a bonus to the adventure in the story.

The Backyard Bird Mysteries with Rusty and Purdy are children's books, with large format photographs featuring the members of the backyard mystery solving group of animals. Each book features, in addition to Rusty and Purdy, about ten different birds to assist the young reader in learning how to identify the birds in their own surroundings, wherever those surroundings may be. The goals are not only to tell a fun story and to promote learning to read, but also to teach recognition of the backyard birds. At the end of each book, there is a glossary  giving useful information on each of the birds in the book. In The Bigfoot Mystery there is also an appendix with information about the legends of Bigfoot. Bigfoot is also called Sasquatch in the U.S. and Yeti in the Himalaya Mountains.

The sales of current books have provided some funds; however, we do not currently have the finances to get the minimum required order of books printed up. This Kickstarter project is being undertaken to assist us in achieving the financial goals that will allow us to get the book printed and published in time for the Holiday season.
