Adams Homes in Simpsonville, SC, teams up with YMCA

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. - Aug. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- On Friday, August 7, 2015, Adams Homes’ Greenville/Spartanburg division volunteered at their local YMCA, Youth Summer Program, in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

The YMCA in Simpsonville has a summer child care program each year that offers underprivileged families free childcare.  This program gives parents the opportunity to find work and go to school, without having to worry about childcare.  This program is also available to foster families.

Adams Homes teamed up with their local YMCA counselors and asked the kids to draw their dream home.  They received a lot of homes with pools and slides inside.  The seven winners (one in each age group) won a Toys R Us gift card and all of the kids had a pizza party.

Sales Manager, Marie Zoltun, said, “Our team had such a great time with the kids.  They were so creative and couldn’t wait to draw their ideas.  They had slides coming from the roofs of their homes, pools in their bedrooms, even rooms for their pet dragon.  They all worked really hard on their homes.  It was a great way to end the week.”

Marie explained that the best thing about the YMCA is the atmosphere, “The counselors all wear shirts that say, 'I’m an awesome role model' and they are.  I was so impressed with all of them and how they interacted with the kids.  It’s an amazing program for/with amazing people.  We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
