The role of CIP plants in food & beverage industry

Aug. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- There are many safety and health regulations that food & beverage companies have to comply with, in order to respect the laws and sell their products. Strict hygienic standards are mandatory in every industrial plant producing processed food or beverages, and this need is satisfied in many cases by special machines called CIP (“Cleaning In Place”).

CIP systems provide excellent cleaning for every complex production equipment made by tanks, tubes and other elements forming a “whole” that would be impossible to disassembly at the end of each production cycle. CIP units are connected to the plant and, through a high pressure cleaning based on the use of hot water, sanitizers and detergents, the internal surfaces are perfectly cleaned from the residuals of organic matter.

At the end of the cleaning process, plants return in a state similar to new and they are ready for a new production cycle. Thanks to CIP plants, dead times during production are minimized and the maximum safety of food and beverages is ensured.

Every CIP unit must be adapted to suit the needs of each single production equipment: depending on its size and the complexity of the plant, Cleaning In Place systems must work in a proper way in order to sanitize the surfaces.
