About Ruby on Rails

Ruby on Rails ("Rails" for short) helps tech companies build business-driven web sites in less time with fewer errors. Time is money; Rails enables developers to deliver.

Chicago based Groupon as well as Twitter, Hulu and AirBnB were built with Rails. GitHub, Rosetta Stone, Braintree, and Sears all use Rails to deliver results online. Most developer boot camps and coding schools teach Rails as the framework of choice. Basecamp, based in Chicago, was the first Rails-based application. Rails was created in a collaboration between developers in Chicago, IL and Copenhagen, Denmark.

About ChicagoRuby

ChicagoRuby is a group of more than 3,200 Ruby and Ruby on Rails enthusiasts. The group holds six monthly events in downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs to share knowledge and excitement about the language and the framework.
