Visual Paradigm 12.2 Released!

Aug. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Visual Paradigm supports software design with modeling languages like UML, SysML, BPMN, ERD, DFD, etc. It also comes along with code engineering, database engineering, hibernate, wireframe, etc. Version 12.2 of Visual Paradigm introduces 6 major new features, more than 42 small features and enhancements. The following lists out a summary of the new and enhanced features.

New Features

·         Resource Catalog
Resource-Centric Interface has long been the most prominent and symbolic feature of Visual Paradigm. In version 12.2, Visual Paradigm have revamped it by combining all resource icons into one single icon. The new icon enables quick creation and connection of shapes, and the feature is now called Resource Catalog.

·         Search bar
Quickly search through diagrams, model elements and user stories. Results are highlighted and number of matched queries will be displayed.

·         Work on multiple turns by creating 'stages'
Manage your development activities more efficiently by dividing them into different Stages. Then assign these Stages accordingly as the task progresses.

·         Team-based document templates and styles management
Maintain document templates, diagram/model element templates and share them with other team members.

·         Improved usability of Tasifier
A fresh, new look has been unveiled for Tasifier. This is not just about a new appearance, but a new user experience.

·         Management of shared diagrams in PostMania
Have an overview of shared diagrams, their viewers and the status of their last viewed. You can also invite extra viewers and remove viewers from any shared diagrams.

­Enhanced Features

·         Auto-create necessary project reference when refactor a model element being referenced by another project

·         Supported disabling diagram link shared via PostMania
Once all the target viewers have accepted your invitation, you can disable sharing that diagram anymore to protect it from any un-expected access.

·         Supported sharing diagram to someone by just entering his email (PostMania)
To invite someone to view a diagram, you just need to provide his/her email address and optionally his/her name. If you do not provide a name, he/she can fill that in when accepting the invitation.

·         Auto-set alt text to image in generated document
Images in generated Word documents will have diagram name filled as image name, and diagram description filled as image description.

·         Presented "Chart Relationships" in document generation outcome
Supported storyboard in document generation outcome
You can now generate documents with storyboard included.

·         Supported document generation only for master views
To avoid producing repeated content, we have added a new option to support processing only master views in document generation.

You can now publish a project with storyboard included.

·         Supported filtering elements with stereotype when construct matrix
Restrict the elements to be listed on rows and columns in a matrix by selecting the stereotype of elements to list. This feature is particularly useful when you want to list requirements of different types in a matrix.

·         Supported showing elements count as tooltip in grid
When rows are selecting in a grid, moving your mouse pointer over your selection will show the number of rows selected.

·         Create transition between text and term when "Add text as term"
Made it possible to trace the origin of a glossary term with the "Transit From" function.

·         Supported the generation and display of ID in user story
Unique IDs are automatically generated for user stories you created.

·         Show the description of a model element with note shape

·         Set direction for information flow in EPC diagram

·         Supported defining Hibernate Configuration Properties (e.g. hibernate.connection.isolation).

·         Specify clustered Primary Keys

·         More options in diagram-based SQL generation

·         Supported searching user story

·         Supported opening a wireframe in non-embedded way when being opened from scenario editor

·         Handled model element reference in Excel exporting and importing

·         Automatically create referenced container shape as mirror
