Lifestyles Goes "Clubbing" at 6th Annual Golf Outing

Annual Golf Classic Honors Christine Dickhut and Urszula Zalewska at Silver Lake Golf Course, Sept 16

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Aug. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- It's time to practice your swing, scrape last year's mud from your shoes, and mark your calendars for September 16 at Silver Lake Golf Course.  That's the date of Lifestyles for the Disabled’s 6th Annual Golf Outing.

The event will honor Christine Dickhut for her leadership, serving as the past president of the Lifestyles’ Board of Directors for 20 years from its founding in 1994 through 2014.  “In her time leading the board,” explained Richard Salinardi, Executive Director, “Chris made sure that every individual worked in programs that followed the Lifestyles’ credo: ‘Focus on ability, not disability.’ Lifestyles is as strong and vibrant as it is today because of Chris’ direct influence.”

Urszula Zalewska, Supervisor of the Lifestyle’s Educational Center in Concord, will also be recognized with the agency’s Conrad Whitehead Award.  Conrad Whitehead exemplified the gold standard of direct support professionalism as a dedicated staff member of Lifestyles from its inception until his death seven years ago.  Zalewska’s tireless efforts to support and leadership in a wide-range of programs follows Whitehead’s example, by touching the lives of many individuals, enhancing their independence, quality of life and self esteem.

There is a range of sponsorship opportunities available, ranging from sponsoring the dinner reception to family sponsorships.  Golf and dinner is $225 per person, or just dinner at the Staaten is $125 per person.  Raffle tickets are available for $10 a piece with prizes that include a Hilton Garden Inn experience, a New York City sports experience, a flat screen television and more.

Registration starts at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.  A reception will follow at The Staaten from 6:30 to 10 p.m. with a cocktail hour, dinner, 50/50 and golf awards.  For information, call Kevin Joyce, 718.982.1951 x224, or email KJoyce@lfdsi.org.
