Friends4Michael Foundation Traveled Cross-Country & Completed Their 2015 Bikers Against Brain Tumor

MONROE, N.Y. - Aug. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Dr. Michael J. Kwinn, Jr., President of The Friends4Michael Foundation (F4M), led a group of the F4M team called the Bikers Against Brain Tumors (BABT) on a tour of eight hospitals through eight states. Kwinn is the father of Michael III who passed away in 2003 from a brain stem tumor at age 14.

The BABT left on Monday, July 25^th from Monroe, NY and returned to Monroe on Saturday, August 8^th. Over the course of three weeks and eight states, the BABT visited hospitals and spoke with social workers who have worked closely with F4M to strengthen working relationships and show the workers that they are a part of the F4M family. The BABT were warmly welcomed by each hospital and social worker. After each visit F4M was inspired to do even more to support and encourage the families in need.

In addition to the medical institutions and professionals who already work with F4M, the BABT met with hospitals and social workers who did not know anything about F4M or how F4M could help families.  According to Dr. Kwinn, “It was a moving and inspiration experience - and it was very, very emotional. The social workers were blown away by the simplicity and speed of our process.  We left those locations confident that there are more families and children we could help.” The F4M Foundation works tirelessly to raise awareness and reach out to families in need. The Foundation goal between receiving an application and issuing a check to help families who have a child with a brain tumor is less than three days, not three business days but three calendar days.

The Bikers Against Brain Tumors tour included eight hospitals in total and numerous social workers, doctors, nurses and families.

The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA
