Joanna J. Charnas holds a B.A. from The Evergreen State College and an M.S.W. from Boston University School of Social Work. She spent her formative years in New York, Silicon Valley, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. A social worker for over 25 years, she is licensed to practice psychotherapy, specializing in group therapy, in Massachusetts and California. She now lives in Southern California, where she works in the Mental Health Department of a large teaching hospital. Living Well with Chronic Illness evolved from her career experience and years as a patient.
