Holy Cross Regional Catholic School "Full STEAM Ahead" for 2015-2016

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Aug. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Lynchburg, VA, August 21, 2015 ---- Holy Cross Regional Catholic School is kicking off the start of the 2015 FLL® Season on Saturday, August 22 from 1 – 4:00 p.m.in the school cafeteria.  Fourth through eighth grade students from around the region are invited to drive LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots and test their robotics skills.  The event aligns with Holy Cross School’s focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), and the school’s 2014-15 theme of “Full STEAM Ahead!”

In a competition similar to FIRST® FRC®, students will manually drive a robot wirelessly using XBOX 360 (or compatible) game controllers to collect field objects and bring them back to base.

This is a FREE competition open to rising 4th through 8th grade students either on a 2015 FLL team or planning to join one this fall. All students must have a parent, coach, or adult in attendance just like at an FLL tournament.
