Rigaku Analytical Devices showcases range of innovative spectroscopic analyzers and continued business expansion during visit from U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’s 6^th congressional district

Wilmington, MA (August 21, 2015) – Rigaku Analytical Devices, a leading pioneer of handheld and portable spectroscopic analyzers, welcomed Congressman Seth Moulton, the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts' 6^th Congressional District, to its recently expanded headquarters in Wilmington, Massachusetts yesterday, where the award-winning Progeny™ and Progeny™ ResQ™ analyzers are manufactured.

Congressman Moulton is a veteran of the Iraq War and a dedicated supporter of the creation of new jobs and investment in innovative industries.  During his visit, the Congressman took a tour of Rigaku’s state-of-the-art 15,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and met with the company’s leadership team and employees. Rigaku moved all of their business functions from Tucson, Arizona, to Wilmington earlier this year, which created 15 high-tech jobs in Massachusetts. The company now employs a total of 40 workers in Massachusetts and 55 workers worldwide.

“Rigaku Analytical Devices is a great example of how investment in innovation drives economic growth,” said Congressman Moulton. “Having a scientific background myself, I was interested to see how the expert team at Rigaku is helping to aid scientific research and protect public safety with their products. By moving their manufacturing facility to Wilmington earlier this year, Rigaku has created a thriving local business and demonstrated that an investment in our economy is an investment in our future.”

The visit comes at an exciting time for Rigaku’s business following the company’s recent rebrand and product launches into the Safety & Security and Metals markets. Earlier this year, the company achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for their manufacturing facility, demonstrating the robust nature of Rigaku’s manufacturing processes and commitment to delivering high-quality analyzers to customers. It was also announced last month that Rigaku’s Progeny™ ResQ™ analyzer, which provides rapid and comprehensive detection of unknown chemical and explosive substances, has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious 2015 R&D 100 Awards, which acknowledge and celebrate the most innovative technologies of the year.
