KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Aug. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- If you don’t know what Dubsmash is, you’re missing out on a lot of fun!

Now where do I start? So Dubsmash (http://www.dubsmash.com/) by Mobile Motion is a video messaging application for iOS and Android. It allows you to create short videos using your camera dubbed over with built-in sounds and/or song clips.

And the fun part is that it’s now a tool that could start a Dubsmash competition and you can start challenging colleagues and making conventional communication in messengers more spectacular.

A short story about the right way to use the app.

A month ago, Dubsmash conflict between casts of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter was all over the internet. It actually still is, because three days ago Agents of SHIELD announced that there will be a 3rd round. We all are in anticipation of Agent Carter’s next move. But back to the beginning. It all started with a Twitter account (https://twitter.com/HayleyAtwell) of Hayley Atwell aka Peggy Carter. She became a little obsessed with Dubsmash and posted something like 20 dubs in a row. And things got really serious when ComicCon started. Hayley Atwell and James D’Arcy (Jarvis) from Agent Carter was challenged by Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet (Phil Coulson and Skye) from Agents of SHIELD. At first it all was very innocent, but 6 weeks later this battle is still on.

Here are just a couple of dubs, so you can fully understand what we are talking about.

But except for a lot of fun for us and, obviously, for Dubsmash creators, we can conclude that the simplest idea can be that much popular, so even Marvel’s cast can become obsessed users.
Basically, the idea is that you’re choosing your favorite sound from a very long list of well-known quotes from films and songs and recording your lip-syncing video with this sound.
Now when we saw that half of Marvel’s fellas and a bunch of other celebrities using this app, it’s hard to believe that the guys from Mobile Motion had failed the launch on the appstore twice with an app similar to Dubsmash. The main problem was its complexity. So, in the end, without all the extras, we have a very simple both UX and UI, three basic screens. It will take you a minute to choose, record and share via Messenger lip-sync like Gollum’s “You don’t have any friends, nobody likes you” to cheer up your friend. The app has now reached number one spot almost all over the Europe.
Navigation through the sound options list is very clear; it took me less than a minute to found Yoda’s “there is no try”. You can also upload your own sounds if thousands of those in a Soundboard are not enough.
The brilliant part of the app is that it allows you to save video on your device only, thus developers don’t have any problems or extra costs with storage. And the size of the app itself is only 8.4 Mb.

As a conclusion, I can say that the negative side of the app is a low video quality and limited clip length, but it doesn’t affect in any way all that entertainment you’ll get. On the other hand, a huge plus is that you can create video in a minute and send it instantly. And you always can send your sister Gandalf’s “You shall not pass” if she’s having an exam in five minutes, like I always do.

So think of it. A three page app, minimalistic design (and who needs design anyway, as we now have the material design bible as the design guide), an ability to upload audio content, as well as integration with social networks and messengers. Made as simple as it can be, yet with 50 million users already and counting. This is an excellent example of a simple idea and flawless execution, so it can become something big.
Outsoft has had an itch to develop a solution for brilliant and entertaining idea like this for a long time now, so please use your imagination, innovate and let’s discuss.
