Local World Champion Set to Compete in Conroe Bull Mania

CONROE, Texas - Aug. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The undisputed number one bull rider in Championship Bull Riding (CBR), 23 year old, 2015 CBR and the 2012 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association World Champion Cody Teel, Kountze, Texas, will take center stage on Saturday night, October 3rd, at the Lone Star Expo Arena. Competing for the first time this CBR season in his native state of Texas, Teel will take to the dirt to battle 24 of the industry’s best riders on the fourth stop of Championship Bull Riding’s (CBR) 2016 Mahindra Road to Cheyenne tour. The Conroe Texas CBR Bull Mania is powered by J5 Tractors.

“It is a rare opportunity for the local fans to see the #1 bull rider in the world that just rode five of five bulls in Cheyenne, with a broken ankle, to win his second World Champion bull riding title,” said Chief Executive Officer and Bull Mania producer Benny Cude who resides in the Woodlands.

Teel, who secured the 2015 CBR World Champion title in July in Cheyenne returned to Texas with an impressive prize package that included an eMax 22 Gear Mahindra tractor, custom Juan Jose Muñoz Andrade saddle, custom Fenoglio Boots, Hyo Silver gold buckle, and a check for $100,000.

The tour features the elite bull riders and bucking bull athletes in a three round tournament style format that appeals to fans because riders can challenge as many as three bulls in one performance. Ride Television host and entertainer, Chad Prather, will be featured during intermission. Immediately following the bull riding action, 4 time World Champion Tuff Hedeman will be in the arena to sign autographs with Teel and the Bull Mania Champion.

The action starts at 8:00 PM with 24 athletic cowboys testing their skills against some of the best bovines in the industry doing their best to hang on for eight seconds. The top 12 from round one advance to a Semi Final Round where they will do their best to be among the final four riders in the Shootout where the bulk of the $30,000 in prize money is paid.

In addition to the prize money, bull riders accumulate points which qualify them for the World Finals, which will be in Wyoming next July as part of the historical Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration. Those points become very important as the rider who ends the world finals at the top of the standings will be crowned the CBR world champion and will receive a $100,000 bonus.

Locally owned 2014 World Champion Bucking Bull, Penny Lover, will be featured in the competition. CBR features the “other side of the ride” bucking the crème of the crop in bovine athletes as the CBR Bull Team Challenge provides the bull power for the bull teams that are featured during the first two rounds of competition. Those bulls receive points for their performance in the arena. Additionally, the time the bull rider stays on is added to the bull’s score. At the end of the night, the owners with the three highest-scoring bulls will receive a total purse of $45,000.

Fans will have two opportunities to see the talented animal athletes of the industry, as the CBR Futurity Tour World Finale gets underway on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM.  90 two-year-old bucking bulls will be featured as the future superstars of the CBR compete for a $50,000 check to be awarded to the owner of the winning 3-bull team.

CBR is offering a unique experience at the Conroe Bull Bash. VIP seating will be available. Seats are positioned on the arena floor. They include dinner, souvenir credentials and access to a private bar.

CBR has become known for their action-packed performances that keep fans on the edge of their seats. That is largely due to the influence of four-time World Champion Bull Rider Tuff Hedeman who coordinates every element and attends to the smallest details. From having great bulls matched up with super star riders, to upbeat music and the arena entertainment of Rockin Robbie Hodges, barrel man, the Conroe Bull Mania will be second to none.
