2015 NewWSO Fall Concert: Stage & Screen
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Sept. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- New Westchester Symphony Orchestra (NewWSO, www.newsymphony.org) will hold its fourth annual Fall Concert on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3PM at White Plains High School, 550 North Street, White Plains, NY 10605.

Conductor Benjamin Niemczyk leads NewWSO in a program that will include favorite pieces from stage and screen productions. Familiar works by John Williams, Mahler, Copland, Rossini and Richard Strauss will be played by local Westchester residents. There will also be a "Sound of Music" sing-along that involves audience participation.

The concert duration will be approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission. General-admission tickets are $10 and available on the NewWSO website, http://www.newsymphony.org. Reception to follow.

NewWSO, an audition-free community orchestra based in White Plains, was formed in November 2011 and held its debut concert in March 2012 under the baton of Maestro Niemczyk. Since then, NewWSO has performed on average once per month and has given over 50 concerts throughout Westchester County. NewWSO's dedicated volunteer musicians bring their music to a wide range of Westchester residents. The majority of NewWSO's concerts are free events at venues such as public libraries, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and assisted living facilities.

NewWSO holds three major concerts per year, such as this year's 2015 Fall Concert, which feature large-scale orchestral works at an accessible ticket price of $10. Although the vast majority of NewWSO's players are not professional musicians, NewWSO plays and performs the same editions of music used by the professional orchestras of the world. NewWSO believes in "Great Music Played By Anyone, For Everyone."
