Local Carpenters Union builds playground for Buckeye Valley West Elementary School

OSTRANDER, Ohio - Aug. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- In early August, ten members of the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) Local 200 Member Action Committee (MAC) and their families dedicated an entire Saturday to building playground equipment at Buckeye Valley West Elementary School.

Around this time last year, Local 200 played a vital role in the assembly of playground equipment at Granby Elementary School in Columbus. Through the friends and relatives of students at Granby, the Buckeye Valley West Elementary PTO heard about the hard work and dedication Local 200 put into Granby’s playground, and they knew Local 200 was the perfect fit for the construction of their playground.

“It’s a great honor to be able to help out based on our past experience,” said IKORCC Representative and 29 year member Wes Osterhout. “It really is an outstanding compliment to us. We love to know that our hard work is valued and appreciated, and we always enjoy giving back, especially when it’s close to home. We can’t wait to see local children - even our children and grandchildren - enjoy their very own playground.”

MAC members who participated in the volunteer project include Troy Woodyard, Wes Osterhout, Jason Willey, Vince Wright, Jimmy Rogers, Mike Mask, Jeremy Dennis, Gary Edwards, Megan Wheeler and Rick Hillard.
