DALLAS - Aug. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Yolonda Brinkley, creator of Beyond Borders: Diversity in Cannes is pleased to announce programming for the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase at the 2015 International Faith and Family Film Festival during Bishop T.D. In celebration of filmmakers around the world, the Showcase will feature five dynamic short films representing Australia, Haiti, Turkey and the USA. Originally submitted for consideration to the independent Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase at the Festival de Cannes, these films are a direct reflection of the organization’s mission to promote globally diverse filmmakers at the Cannes Film Festival. Moreover, they embody the core elements of the International Faith and Family Film Festival and were specifically selected by Diversity in Cannes’ Yolonda Brinkley and Derrick Williams of T.D. Jakes Films to be screened during MegaFest.

1. Knit One by Clare Gray (Australia)

2. Locked Out of Heaven by Dianna Ippolito (USA)

3. Only Light by Evita Castine (USA)

4. Purgatorio by Martine Jean (Haiti)

5. Ziazan by Derya Durmaz (Turkey)

“What is exciting about these films is they allow us to celebrate creative talent while displaying the wide diversity of faith voices from around the world,”Bishop T.D. Jakes said.“ I’m thrilled to have these films showcase a festival of talent, inspiration and excitement.”

“I am honored to partner with Bishop T.D Jakes and the entire MegaFest family, for the second year, to present the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase, during the International Faith and Family Film Festival,” comments Yolonda Brinkley, creator of Beyond Borders: Diversity in Cannes.  Great storytelling transcends cultural and geographic boundaries, and I am delighted to provide a platform to celebrate the work of talented filmmakers who give life to globally diverse characters and stories to which we all can relate.”

While only the second year of the Diversity in Cannes MegaFest partnership, Brinkley has been independently fueling the diversity movement at the Cannes Film Festival for six years. Since its inception, the organization has produced symposiums with panelists from Ghana, Congo, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom and the United States including award winning directors Michael Rowe, Alrick Brown and Annemarie Jacir, Palestine’s first female feature filmmaker, US based pre Cannes Film Festival information sessions and the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase, introduced in May 2013 to the delight of filmmakers around the world.
