transFORM Gallery’s NYC Art Exhibit, Opening Reception - John Greene & Alexander Rutsch

NEW YORK - Aug. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- transFORM Gallery is excited to announce our Autumn art exhibit, John Greene and Alexander Rutsch at our Manhattan Showroom in the New York Design Center. The opening reception will be held on September 17th from 6pm to 9pm to coincide with the New York Design Center’s highly anticipated annual event, What’s New What’s Next. In addition, transFORM will be hosting a presentation on the future of smart living in urban spaces, Small Spaces in the Big City – Innovations in Space Saving Design, at 6:45pm. Join us as we celebrate the thriving use of art in the New York design community.

About John Greene and Alexander Rutsch

transFORM Gallery announces their contemporary art opening: John Greene – Color Fields and Alexander Rutsch – A Retrospective. John D. Greene focuses on creating his own reality, painting imagined rather than real landscapes, recreating long-forgotten images and vistas. As John explains it, “painting is about paint. Color, texture, the joy of putting it on or scraping it off”. Helen A. Harrison of the New York Times calls John Greene’s color field paintings, “intense”.

Alexander Rutsch’s early years were spent in France where he collaborated with his contemporaries, Picasso and Dali. These collaborations are strongly seen in several paintings throughout our gallery, including a mixed media portrait of Dali created during a sitting at the St. Regis, New York in 1969. His work is held in the collections of Queen Fabiola of Belgium, Walter Cronkite, Salvador Dali, Sammy Davis Jr, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Paris’ Musée d’Art Moderne, and New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

The New York Design Center presents its seventh annual What’s New, What’s Next, a showcase of new ideas, design, materials, and products. The most anticipated interior design event of the season will boast presentations, book signings, and panel discussions with the industry’s top editors, designers, and manufacturers.

In addition to the stimulating programs surrounding the latest trends, guests have the opportunity to view new product introductions ranging from residential to contract, rugs to lighting, sofas to tiles, ultra-modern to traditional, and everything in between. What’s New, What’s Next celebrates every facet of the design industry generating a buzz that can’t be missed.
